Turbo Jet Engine Model

Turbo Jet Engine Model

The model of a jet engine was designed and printed on a 3D printer as part of Jiří Chromý's Absolvent thesis at the higher vocational school in the school year 2021/2022. The model represents the problems encountered in the control of simpler dynamic stable systems, such as DC and AC electric motors. School resources were used to implement this teaching aid. The cost of the components was 4 560 CZK. The implementation took 668 hours.

The design of the jet engine was based on an already completed 3D model, which is freely available on the website [3]. In addition to this student work, Jirka Roubal designed and manufactured the measuring electronics (frequency to voltage converter), thanks to which, when controlling the jet engine by a computer or PLC automaton, it is possible to use for speed measurement not only the signal from the encoder, but also the output voltage in the range of ⟨0; 5⟩ V, respectively ⟨0; 10⟩ V, see more in [1].
