Welcome to the website of the Laboratory of Applied Informatics

Laboratory of Applied Informatics is mainly used for practical teaching of control technology on interesting laboratory models, many of which were created as part of absolvent theses by our students from the Tertiary Technical School (TTS), in Czech called Vyšší Odborná Škola. At the TTS, the laboratory is used in the areas of dynamic system modeling, their identification, control design and its implementation. At the secondary school, the laboratory is mainly used for work with sensors, actuators and Programmable Logical Controllers. In our lab, pupils can practice basic automation skills while students deepen their theoretical knowledge gained from lectures and learn about the challenges of real-world automation.

The models used in the lab represent real-world systems that are part of complex industrial and technical sectors. For example, the portal crane (inverted pendulum) model represents many real-world systems, from a crane moving a load, to a Segway truck, to a launching space shuttle. Some clever and enthusiastic students can create a model themselves, as demonstrated in the following video.

The Laboratory of Applied Informatics is currently one of the best-equipped laboratories for practical teaching of control technology and thus creates a pleasant and representative environment for teaching. It is located at the Vyšší odborná škola, Střední škola, Centrum odborné přípravy in Sezimovo Ústí, Budějovická 421, in building C (room C227), and its current laboratory supervisor is Jirka Roubal.

On this website, you will find information about the laboratory models, a list of the subjects taught, links to related works, and a detailed photo gallery with pictures of each model and various events in the laboratory. You can read about the lab's progress in the history section, open the 3D tour, or come see it in person...
